Falsework (Enabling Structures)

MARIZA DAOUTI & WESLEY TAYLOR

The support structures form a festival site in various spatial constellations throughout 30 May – 1 June at the Tiny Park Festival site.

Mariza Daouti and Wesley Taylor have designed a series of 10 wooden-framed structures, originally conceived of as enabling structures. Originally based on formwork and falsework – the temporary props and supports used in construction processes, the design has morphed to consider how the structures might act – in different spatial configurations – as supports, interfaces, and hosting platforms. The enabling structures consider the practical spatial requirements needed to facilitate formats for hosting, creating a flexible node for gathering a temporary community for activations, for sharing food and communing in and with public(s) of Gröndal, Lövholmen and Liljeholmen.
