CARMELA
Carmela Omil is from Pontevedra, Spain and she is based in Stockholm, Sweden, since August 2023. She studied Architecture in La Coruña and a Master's in Research in Art and Creation in Madrid. As an architectural intern, she worked at rvr arquitectos studio in Santiago de Compostela.
She is interested in analysis and research, as well as in the development of projects at all stages and scales, particularly the urban one; public space and everything that revolves around it. However, in her artistic practice, she works with the small, seeking to understand her surroundings, establishing new relations with the materials at hand. Mechanical behavior and automatisms resulting from these interactions are the core of her work.
